GPA Conversion Reference
Different countries use different grading systems. Here's how common scales roughly translate to CSC's minimum 3.3/4.0 requirement.
Note: These are approximate equivalences. CSC may interpret grades differently depending on your country's education system. If your GPA is borderline, a strong study plan and pre-admission letter become even more critical.
Nationality & Special Cases
Dual Nationality Holders
If you hold both Chinese and foreign nationality, China does not recognize dual citizenship. You must apply using your non-Chinese passport, and your Chinese citizenship status may complicate your application. Consult the embassy in your country of residence.
Type A Country-Specific Quotas
For Type A (Embassy track), each country has a specific quota. Some countries like Pakistan, Thailand, and Indonesia have larger quotas due to bilateral agreements. Your acceptance rate depends significantly on how many applicants from your country compete for the available spots.
Applicants Currently in China
If you're already studying in China (self-funded or on a different visa), you can apply for CSC through the university route (Type B). However, you cannot apply if you're currently receiving another Chinese government scholarship at the same study level.
