Important: Medicine is the Most Competitive

Medicine and dentistry programmes require a 90% GPA minimum — 20 percentage points higher than other undergraduate fields. The acceptance rate for medicine is even lower than the overall 2-5%, as these spots are extremely limited. You'll also study in Turkish, meaning TOMER success is absolutely critical.

Eligibility Pro Tips

1

Meeting minimums is NOT enough

A 70% GPA might qualify you technically, but winners typically have 85%+ GPAs. The minimum is just the entry ticket — you're competing against 250,000 others.

2

Age is calculated as of January 1 of the application year

If you turn 21 on March 15 but are 20 on January 1, you're still eligible for the undergraduate programme. Check the exact cutoff date.

3

GPA conversion matters

Different grading systems (4.0 scale, letter grades, percentages) are converted. If your country uses a different system, check how it maps to the Turkish percentage scale. A 3.0/4.0 GPA is 75%.

4

Your nationality affects your chances

Quotas vary by country. Some nations get 80+ spots, others get fewer than 15. Check the success rate page for country-level data.
