The Monthly Stipend
These are the CSC's rates for 2027/28 Master's and PhD Scholarships, quoted "at current levels", so they may be adjusted. Scholarship stipends are generally tax-free.

One-Off and Extra Payments
Towards study-related travel within the UK or overseas. Listed for all 2027/28 Master's and PhD awards.
Listed as a separate allowance for Shared Scholarships. For Master’s and PhD Scholars, the CSC Handbook says the stipend already includes an allowance for warm clothing.
GBP 225 a year for Master’s Scholars, paid automatically in the December stipend, according to the CSC Handbook. Also listed for Shared Scholarships.
The CSC Handbook covers an extra 10kg (or one piece) on your flight to the UK if your standard allowance is under 30kg, and a fixed one-off payment for baggage when you fly home.
