After Selection: What Happens Next

You have been selected. Here is every step from provisional selection to arriving in the UK for a September/October 2027 start.

From Award Letter to Arrival

Provisional selection and award letter
You are first provisionally selected, subject to the CSC agreeing your admission terms with the university. You then receive a Notification of Award: official confirmation of your scholarship, university, programme, duration and financial provisions. Respond promptly — an offer can be withdrawn if you don't reply in time.

Confirm your university place
Accept your offer and complete any conditions (English language, document verification). You also submit a Health and Disability Form and sign an undertaking to return home before your visa expires; the CSC then issues a formal Confirmation of Award.

Get your CAS
Your university generates a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) — essential for your visa.

Apply for your Student visa
Make your UK Student visa application. The CSC covers the visa fee and Immigration Health Surcharge. See the visa guide →

Pre-departure briefing
The CSC organises briefings about UK life, academic culture and what to expect. Attend these!

Book flights
The CSC arranges and pays for your approved economy flights to the UK.

September/October 2027
Arrive and orientation
Welcome event, university registration, bank account setup and the start of your programme.
