Re-register, visa, arrive, then BIPA
Results appear on your KNB account after the announcement date and on knb.kemdiktisaintek.go.id. In 2026 the announcement was 19 June. An interview invitation is not an award. The formal result is a separate notice.
The 2026 post-award calendar is the last published sequence: re-registration 22–26 June; immigration documents for the student visa 20 July–21 August; arrival in Indonesia 24–31 August; BIPA starting September. The next cycle will publish its own dates. Do not treat these days as automatic 2027 dates.
What does not change after the offer
- ▸University and programme are fixed. The official FAQ and guidelines both say they cannot be changed after confirmation.
- ▸Family members cannot accompany you. Hosts cannot sponsor their immigration. There is no dependent allowance.
- ▸Incorrect personal data found after acceptance can be investigated, with sanctions based on severity.
- ▸Withdrawal or failure to meet requirements after selection can mean a blacklist from future KNB rounds and a requirement to return funds already received.
Language year, then the degree
BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia for foreign speakers) is compulsory for up to one academic year. Each host provides the course. You must pass it before academic lectures, thesis, or dissertation work in Bahasa in regular classes. A preparatory programme may also be arranged under university policy.
Keep academic performance, attendance, and discipline in good standing. Funded length after language training is up to eight semesters (bachelor or doctorate) or four semesters (master). Doctoral research stays in Indonesia.
Tickets, insurance, and going home
Arrival support in the 2026 guidelines includes an economy-class ticket from your home-country international airport to Indonesia and local transport to the host. Return travel after the graduation certificate is issued is also economy class, booked by the host. You apply for an Exit Permit Only (EPO). Return no later than 60 days after the programme ends or the certificate is issued, while the residence permit is still valid. Attending a commencement ceremony is not automatic — it depends on the contract and visa expiry.
Health insurance covers illness (outpatient and inpatient) and accidents under the provider’s policy, not aesthetic treatment. Settlement, living, and book/research allowances are paid according to terms after you arrive. Confirm the current schedule and any campus joining instructions in the award notice, not in third-party blogs.
