University Placement & Programme Selection
You get exactly 2 programme choices on DreamApply. Choose wisely — you cannot change them after submission, and transfers during the scholarship are extremely restricted.
The 2-Choice Rule
Unlike DAAD (which allows 3) or Erasmus Mundus (which allows 3-7 programme applications), Stipendium Hungaricum limits you to 2 programme choices. These are ranked as first and second preference.

- • Put your dream programme as first choice
- • Make your second choice a realistic backup
- • Consider less competitive programmes for your second choice
- • Different universities can have different competitiveness levels
Common Mistakes
- • Choosing 2 programmes in completely different fields
- • Choosing the same programme at 2 universities (risky)
- • Not researching university quality/city before choosing
- • Ignoring your sending partner's field restrictions
Transfer Rules
Transfer between programmes or universities during the scholarship is allowed only ONCE during your entire scholarship period, and subject to strict conditions:
- 1You must have a valid academic reason (not just "I don't like the city")
- 2The receiving university must accept you
- 3You must submit the transfer request within the official deadline
- 4Tempus and your sending partner must approve
- 5If denied, you must continue at your current programme or lose the scholarship
No Changes After Submission
Once you click "Submit" on DreamApply, your programme choices are locked. You cannot:
- ✗ Change your programme selections
- ✗ Swap the order of your preferences
- ✗ Add a third choice
- ✗ Replace uploaded documents (with rare exceptions)
Triple-check everything before submitting. Have someone else review your application if possible.
