After Selection: What Happens Next
Congratulations — you got the scholarship! But the work isn't over. Between results (June/July) and semester start (September), you have a packed timeline of tasks. Miss any of them and your scholarship could be revoked.
Post-Results Timeline
Results Announced
Check DreamApply portal and email. Accept the offer within the specified deadline (usually 1-2 weeks).
Submit Medical Certificate
If not already submitted. Must be recent (within 1 month) and in English.
Apply for Visa
Contact Hungarian Embassy in your country. Processing time: 2-6 weeks depending on country. See visa guide.
Arrange Accommodation
Confirm dormitory place or start searching for private accommodation. See housing guide.
Arrive in Hungary
Orientation week, university registration, dormitory check-in.

First Week Survival Guide
Day 1-2: Settle In
Check into dormitory/accommodation. Buy a Hungarian SIM card (Telekom, Vodafone, or Yettel). Get a transport pass. Stock up on groceries at the nearest supermarket.
Day 3-4: Administrative Tasks
Register your address at the local government office. Visit your university's international office. Complete enrollment. Get your student ID card.
Day 5-6: Healthcare & Banking
Start the TAJ card application. Open a bank account (OTP, K&H, or Erste are common). Set up online banking for stipend deposits.
Day 7: Orientation
Attend university orientation. Meet other SH scholars. Join social media groups for your university's international students. Explore your neighborhood.
