What the NAWA Director's Scholarship Paid in 2026/27
Monthly stipend, public-university tuition exemption and a one-off travel lump sum. Private HEIs set their own fees. Amounts for the 2027/28 cycle are not yet published.

These are the published 2026/27 amounts, not a promise for 2027/28. NAWA Announcement No. 47/2025 of 17 December 2025 raised the NAWA Director's scholarship to PLN 2,000 a month from 1 January 2026 for students under earlier calls, including the 2024 and 2025 My First Choice calls. Announcement No. 38/2025 had already raised earlier Banach calls to PLN 2,500 a month from 1 October 2025. The next cycle's amounts are unpublished as of 6 October 2026.
Official 2026/27 amounts
Banach
PLN 2,500 a month, paid for a maximum of 12 months per academic year (5 winter / 7 summer), from the first month of classes or the preparatory course. With an on-site Polish language and culture course, the first stipend came from September 2026. A travel lump sum of PLN 2,500 is paid once, with the first month. Public HEI tuition and NAWA preparatory-course fees are exempted. Allocation: about PLN 6.48 million.
Poland My First Choice
PLN 2,000 a month with the same 12-month / 5+7 structure, from the first month of classes. A one-off travel lump sum comes with the first month, tiered by citizenship (PLN 1,000–6,500). Public HEI tuition is exempted. Allocation: PLN 1,300,000 (about PLN 350,000 for 2026 payments).

How the money reaches you
Payment goes through the host HEI (or the Banach preparatory-course unit). This is not a salary and is not family support.
City rents in Warsaw or Kraków can exceed a single stipend — budget from study.gov.pl cost-of-living notes, not from blogs.
The tuition exemption applies to public HEIs, not automatically to private ones. If you pick a non-public HEI, you negotiate fees with that institution.
