1. Citizenship is on the Banach 36 list or the My First Choice published list (not both unless you actually hold that passport)?
2. You do not hold Polish citizenship and have not applied for it?
3. First-cycle diploma in a programme country no earlier than 2024, or final year finishing by 15 July 2026 (2026/27 wording)?
4. Banach: you do not already hold a second-cycle / uniform Master's (unless your country has no two-cycle system)?
5. You have never received a NAWA Director scholarship for second-cycle studies?
6. Documented language: B2 for studies, or Banach Polish-track B1 if you take the preparatory course?
7. Target HEI is supervised by the Minister of Science and Higher Education and has a NAWA framework agreement?

Shared 2026/27 gates
Both programmes used the same core filters. The next call may move the diploma year and the July completion date. Do not treat 15 July 2026 as a permanent rule.
Both announcements exclude Polish citizenship and applications for Polish citizenship.
Or final-year students who obtain the degree by 15 July 2026, in a country covered by that programme.
A previous NAWA Director award for second-cycle studies blocks a new one.
Banach Polish preparatory path accepts documented Polish at B1. Recognised certificates are annexes to each call.
Fields at institutions supervised by other ministries were not in the 2026/27 calls. Confirm the annex list.
Banach-only rules
Call no. 16/2026 of 13 April 2026. Citizens of these 36 countries only:
Albania, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mexico, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Palestine, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Serbia, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.
Applicants must not already hold a second-cycle or uniform Master's diploma, except where the home system has no two-cycle structure. Studies or the preparatory course start in the winter semester (from October in 2026/27). Full groups: Banach page.
Poland My First Choice-only rules
Call no. 19/2026 of 30 April 2026 and the programme page. Citizens of the listed countries, plus residents of Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uruguay — and residents of Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan.
