Official URLs — and the 404 problem
A*STAR published SINGA supervisor pages under the old talent tree. Google still indexes them. A curl check on 22 September 2026 returned 404 after the site rebuild. Bookmark the current scholarships site and write [email protected] if the lists are not restored. Do not treat a 404 as “SINGA is cancelled” on its own — the applicant portal FAQ still names the award, and NUS/NTU pages still mention it.
A*STAR supervisors and projects
Indexed page: research areas fall broadly under two councils — Biomedical Research Council and Science and Engineering Research Council. Applicants were told to review all categories because research is interdisciplinary, and to contact a supervisor directly if that person is not on the list. CFAR (Centre for Frontier AI Research, formed 2021) was named on that page.

The indexed NUS SINGA page pointed to NUS Graduate Schools / NUSGS programmes. NUS still lists SINGA on its Service Obligation page.

Indexed SUTD page listed academic pillars (ASD, DAI, EPD, ESD, ISTD, SMT) and research centres including DManD, iTrust, LKY Centre for Innovative Cities, and Temasek Laboratories @SUTD.

NTU
The 2023 brochure names NTU as a partner. January intake in that brochure was A*STAR and NTU only. NTU schools still mention SINGA (for example the Asian School of the Environment). Use the school's faculty pages if A*STAR's NTU directory is down.
BMRC and SERC are real councils
A*STAR's live organisation page still describes both. BMRC oversees public-sector biomedical R&D (bioprocessing, genomics, molecular and cell biology, bioengineering, computational biology, translational medicine) and sits at Biopolis. SERC covers physical sciences and engineering (communications, materials, chemicals, computational sciences, microelectronics, advanced manufacturing, metrology). A live research-attachment page still groups institutes under BMRC and SERC tabs. That attachment scheme is not SINGA, but the council split matches the old SINGA project lists.

How to write a professor
Official pages do not publish an email script. They do say you may contact a supervisor who is not on the list. Keep the first note short: who you are, which paper or project you read, what you can do in a lab, and that you are applying for SINGA through the official A*STAR system. Attach a CV. Do not ask the professor to “guarantee SINGA.” A*STAR still decides the award.
SMU is in the 2023 partner list. SIT appears on some A*STAR material. Confirm either on a live official page before you treat them as a current SINGA host.
