Portal rules

What the official FAQ actually says

The current applicant system still publishes a portal FAQ. It is dated 1 April 2021. Technical rules can change. Recheck the PDF and the live form.

One account

NRIC or passport number is compulsory to register. Foreigners use the full passport number. If email or NRIC already exists, do not open a second account. Unlock via the portal's forgot-password link.

Desktop, not a phone

A*STAR says the site might not be compatible with tablets and phones. Use a desktop or laptop. JavaScript must be on. Some countries may need a VPN. The FAQ still names older browser floors (IE 9+, Chrome 26+, Firefox 20+); use a current Chrome or Firefox anyway.

Uploads

Each file under 3 MB. Filename under 260 characters. Too many publications: save in batches. Avoid special characters such as a quote or semicolon in fields.

Referees

If a referee email is wrong after you submit, email [email protected] with your application number, the referee name, and the correct email. Do not invent a second portal workaround.

Declarations before preview

The preview button stays disabled until you complete the declarations, including consent for A*STAR to share data with other Singapore government agencies and educational institutions, and a SINGA-specific statement that incomplete or inaccurate information can terminate an award.

What this page will not invent

Blogs list a fixed SOP word count, a GRE rule, or a numbered list of certificates. Those are not on the live official pages fetched for this handbook. Open the current official form and upload what it asks. If the dedicated SINGA page is still 404, write [email protected].

To withdraw a submitted SINGA file, the FAQ says email [email protected] with your application number. Technical screenshots go to [email protected].
