You got the email. Congratulations — you're a Fulbright finalist. Now comes the part nobody warned you about: medical clearance, visa paperwork, university placement, and a whirlwind of deadlines before you board the plane. For the 2027–28 cohort, final results and placements arrive through 2027 for departures in August/September 2027.

University Placement
Under IIE placement, the Institute of International Education handles university outreach and admission negotiations for you after nomination. Under self-placement, you apply to universities and manage admissions yourself. Your commission tells you which model applies.
