Who decides
Applications are evaluated by the Admissions Committees of the respective Master's programmes. The final decision for awarding ESOP scholarships rests with the Rector of ETH Zurich. Decisions are communicated by the end of March. About 60 scholarships are planned for 2027/28; the exact number depends on funds.
The official FAQ is blunt: there is no nomination for ESOP, and Master's admission is unaffected if you are not selected for the scholarship. Do not withdraw a strong admission file because ESOP did not arrive.
Mentorship and the Foundation network
ETH describes ESOP as a scholarship plus mentorship plus a network of the ETH Foundation. The current ESOP page does not publish a mentorship syllabus or a mandatory event calendar. After an award, follow whatever onboarding the Financial Aid Office and the Foundation send — do not invent obligations from blogs.
