British Council GREAT Scholarship 2027 dates: GREAT windows are university-specific for 2027 entry. Here is how they fit around the Chevening, Commonwealth and Women in STEM timelines.

Deadlines: What You Need to Know
Every scholarship runs on its own clock. GREAT deadlines are set by each university for 2027 entry and usually fall in the first half of 2027. Chevening's 2027/28 round closed on 6 October 2026 for most countries (a few, such as Austria and Belgium, stay open until 20 October 2026). The Commonwealth CSC deadline is 20 October 2026, and Women in STEM has not announced a 2027/28 round yet; the 2026/27 round opened in January 2026.

Women in STEM dates are projected from the 2026/27 round. The British Council has not yet confirmed a 2027/28 round, so confirm on the British Council and partner university sites once the 2027/28 round opens.
Deadline Timeline for 2027/28
- 14 Aug – 6 Oct 2026Chevening applications (closed)
The 2027/28 round ran from 4 August to 6 October 2026 at 11:00 UTC on chevening.org. Interviews follow in March–April 2027. If you missed it, the 2028/29 round is expected to open around early August 2027. Full Chevening guide.
- 28 Sep – 20 Oct 2026Commonwealth applications
Apply through your nominating body and the CSC system by 20 October 2026, 16:00 BST. Nominating bodies often set earlier internal deadlines. Full Commonwealth guide.

Each partner university runs its own application. In 2026 the window ran from 16 January to 14 April. Check individual university scholarship pages. Women in STEM guide.
