Build one file, in one country
Document rules follow the annual call and the mission that reads your country track. What follows is the last published pattern, not a secret extra list. When the 2027–28 call appears on the official site, that annex wins. Upload on Study in Italy using the same identity you will take to a visa window.
Names must match the passport. Translations should be complete, not decorative cover pages. A mission that cannot read a transcript will not guess your GPA. If a document is issued in a language the call does not accept, commission a translation before the portal opens — not on closing week.

Type-specific papers
Research — invitation letter
The last call required an invitation from the Italian host. The letter should identify you, the host structure, and the research stay. A generic “we welcome international researchers” PDF is not an invitation. This type is nine months and not renewable.
Joint and double degrees — Italian enrolment certificate
You must be able to produce a valid Italian enrolment certificate. A certificate from the non-Italian partner alone does not prove Italian enrolment. If the Italian university cannot enrol you, the grant has nowhere to sit.
Bachelor Costruiamo il futuro — renewal evidence
This path is renewal only. First-award bachelor applicants should not assemble a “creative” first-year file. You need evidence that you are already on that track if the new call still offers the renewal.
AFAM and PhD
Expect host-specific admission papers: entrance tests, supervisor statements, or academy auditions. MAECI does not waive those. Keep them in the same identity as the scholarship form.
Quality control before you click submit
Scan in colour if stamps matter. Do not crop a seal. Do not upload a WhatsApp screenshot of a diploma. If the portal states size or format limits in the new call, obey those limits rather than a forum memory. Keep the original files; visa officers later will ask for paper that matches what the mission already saw.
Universitaly documents and MAECI documents overlap but are not twins. A pre-enrolment receipt is not a language certificate. A language certificate is not an invitation letter. Label files so a diplomat who opens twenty PDFs that morning can see what each one is.
