Filing in two countries
The rule is one country. A second Study in Italy profile through a spouse’s citizenship or a “friendlier embassy” is not clever. It is the first thing a coordinated check can see.
Mistakes that ignore the statute
Law 288/55 is about cultural and scientific cooperation and Italian language and culture. Files that read like a generic “fully funded Europe” essay miss the point. The sharper failures are administrative: two country tracks, a dual national applying as Italian, a research stay with no host, a bachelor first award on a renewal-only path.
Dual Italian + foreign citizens on the Italian track
The last published instruction was to apply via the foreign-country track. This programme is for foreign citizens. Using the Italian nationality to “simplify” the form fights the design of the call.
Treating Costruiamo il futuro as an open bachelor
In the last call that bachelor path was renewal only. A first-year bachelor package assembled from YouTube advice is the wrong object.
Research without an invitation letter
Research is nine months and not renewable. The invitation is part of eligibility, not a nice extra. A faculty homepage printout is not a letter.
Wrong language proof
Italian-taught typically needs B2 Italian. English-taught typically needs B2 English or an English-taught bachelor proof. Italofonia is A2 Italian. Mixing those three is a very expensive mix-up. See language requirements.
Skipping Universitaly
Pre-enrolment and admission tests often live on universitaly.it. A scholarship letter does not enrol you. Joint and double degrees still need a valid Italian enrolment certificate.
Inventing 26 March 2027
The last official close was 26 March 2026, 14:00 Italian time. Official 2027–28 dates are not published. Copying last year’s Friday onto next year is how people miss the real hour — or relax until a date that never existed. Read the deadline chapter.
Assuming the grant pays tuition and rent
The last published cash was €10,800 in three instalments (or €3,600 for language). That is not automatically a tuition waiver or a housing contract. Budget from the funding page, not from a “fully funded Italy” thumbnail.
Online study, or study outside Italy
Onsite in Italy is the rule. A remote degree with an Italian logo still fails the geography test.
Paying an agent for a free public form
The call is published on esteri.it and filed on Study in Italy. Nobody can sell you a diplomatic selection. If the fee is for “embassy contacts,” walk away.
