MIS Deadline and Timeline: The 2026/27 Dates and What to Expect for 2027/28
MOHE posts the MIS window on its portal only a short time ahead, and the dates moved by three months between 2025 and 2026. Here are the official dates for the last two cycles and a cautious estimate for the next one.
The 2026/2027 call is closed. The MIS portal still shows the interview shortlist check (7–22 July 2026). MOHE has published no date for 2027/2028.
Official dates from the last two cycles
MOHE replaces its portal notice each time the stage changes, so these dates come from archived copies of the official MIS page.
| Stage | 2025/2026 cycle | 2026/2027 cycle |
|---|---|---|
| Application window | 10–30 June 2025 | 4 March – 3 April 2026 |
| Interview shortlist check | 4–12 September 2025 | 7–22 July 2026 |
| Offer status check | 27 October – 31 December 2025 | Not yet posted (as of 6 October 2026) |
Two patterns stand out. The window is short, three weeks in 2025 and about a month in 2026. And the interview list appeared about two to three months after the window closed.
Our estimate for 2027/2028
Nothing below is official. It is based only on the two cycles above. MOHE could open earlier, later or with different rules.
- 1Now – early 2027Prepare everything
Get certified copies, translations, your English test result, referees and (for research degrees) a finished proposal ready by early 2027.
- 2Expected first half of 2027Application window (about 3–4 weeks)
In 2026 it opened in early March and in 2025 in June. Check the portal every week from January 2027.
- 3About 2–3 months after closingInterview shortlist check
In both cycles, shortlisted applicants had to log in during a fixed window to see whether they had been invited.
- 4Later in 2027Offer status check
In the 2025/2026 cycle, offers could be checked from late October to the end of December.
What about 2026/2027 results?
On 6 October 2026 the portal still showed the July interview-check notice, with no offer-check notice yet. If the 2025/2026 pattern repeats, an offer-status check would appear later in 2026. That is an inference, not a MOHE statement. If you were interviewed, log in to the MIS system regularly.
Why timing matters for the age limit
The age limit (40 for a Master’s, 45 for a PhD) applies “at the time of application”. If you will pass the limit during 2027, the opening date decides whether you can apply. Plan around the earliest likely window, March 2027, and do not count on a later one.
How to catch the window
- Bookmark the MIS portal. The window notice appears on its front page.
- Check the guidelines PDF link on the same page. The file name changes with the year (for example, “Guidelines MIS 2026.pdf”).
- MOHE also links MIS from its scholarships page.
- Have your PDFs finished before the window opens. A three-week window leaves no time to get documents certified.
University intakes are separate
The MIS window does not replace university deadlines. Universities set their own intakes and closing dates, and the guidelines leave it to you to confirm your admission. If you already have an offer when the window opens, upload it.
