Italy DSU Deadlines 2027/28: What the 2026 Cycle Tells You
As of 6 October 2026, the 2026/27 DSU calls for bachelor’s and master’s students are closed and none of the 2027/28 calls is published. Here are the real 2026 dates and a backwards plan for 2027.

Every main 2026/27 call listed below has closed. The 2027/28 calls are expected from June 2027, based on the 2026 cycle. No 2027/28 dates on this page are official until the regional bodies publish their bandi.
Some later windows remain open in 2026 for specific groups — for example, Tuscany’s PhD and specialisation window runs from 25 September to 16 November 2026, and ER.GO’s separate “contributi straordinari” run from 1 October to 1 December 2026. They do not help a new bachelor’s or master’s student who missed the main call.

When 2026/27 results are published
Each body publishes a graduatoria provvisoria (provisional ranking), a short window for corrections or appeals, then a graduatoria definitiva. Housing rankings come first because students need beds before term:
- EDISU: housing provisional 11 September, final 25 September; grant provisional 21 October, first final ranking 9 November 2026.
- ER.GO: grant provisional 20 October, appeals to 27 October, final 17 November 2026.
- PoliMi: reduced-rate housing for first-years 27 August (final 9 September); grant provisional 29 September, final 10 November 2026.
- Padova: provisional ranking by 15 October, final ranking from 25 November 2026. International students are ranked only if the ISEE parificato was requested by 30 September.
A backwards plan for 2027/28
Documents →If the 2027 cycle follows 2026, the earliest calls will close in late July 2027 — before many international students have a visa. The documents, not the form, set your timetable. Families who start collecting certificates in the spring are rarely the ones who miss out; those who start after admission letters arrive often are.
- 1Jan–Mar 2027Confirm which region and bodyOnce you know your target universities, find each one’s DSU body and read last year’s bando. Note the income year it used.
- 2Feb–May 2027Collect family certificates at homeIncome for the reference year, property with square metres, bank balances at 31 December, family composition. Expect the reference year to be 2025 or 2026; confirm when the call appears.
- 3Apr–Jun 2027Legalise and translateItalian embassy or consulate legalisation, or apostille where the region accepts it, then an official Italian translation.
- 4Jun–Sep 2027Apply online and deliver documentsSubmit before the deadline even if you are not yet admitted or enrolled — most calls require this.
- 5Sep–Dec 2027Watch rankings, add your IBANCheck the provisional ranking, fix errors in the appeal window, register a SEPA bank account.
PoliMi’s bando states that the DSU deadline is independent of the admission and enrolment calendar and is binding even for students who can only enrol later. Tuscany says the same. Missing it because you were waiting for an admission letter is not an excuse they accept.
