Apostille vs Consular Confirmation
Apostille
For countries in the Hague Apostille Convention. Get it from your country's designated authority (usually Ministry of Foreign Affairs or equivalent). Takes 1-4 weeks depending on country.
Consular Confirmation
For countries NOT in the Hague Convention. Get documents verified by the Korean embassy in your country. May require multiple steps and government offices first.
Translations must be done by a certified/sworn translator. Self-translations are not accepted. Budget 2-4 weeks for translations alone.
University Track: Mail Can Be Unreliable!
If applying through the university track, you must mail physical documents to Korea. Use DHL, FedEx, or EMS with tracking. Send at least 2 weeks before the deadline. Regular post has failed applicants before. Keep tracking numbers and screenshots of delivery confirmation.
