Academic Freedom

  • 1.You design your own schedule (no fixed timetable)
  • 2.Professors expect independence and self-motivation
  • 3.Lectures are optional at many universities

Assessment Style

  • 1.Often one big exam at end of semester (Klausur)

  • 4.Thesis (Abschlussarbeit) is a major part of degree
